Fix: Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported

There seems to be a bug for software installers created with InstallAnywhere. Wherein the downloaded installer unpacked when the installer initializes it throws an error and installation never occurs. Sounds familiar? Just sharing this information since I got stuck googling for about an hour or two about it without finding a fix applicable to me.

Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported Unable to load and to prepare the installer in GUI mode.

Screenshot below.

1. From google results = that there is an invalid character like @#$%^&  etc in your Windows account name, remove the character from the User Accounts in the Control Panel and try running the installer again.

2. And for my fix. The above scenario is not applicable to me, I checked the path of installer in the PC and see if there is any invalid characters in the folders, turns out the folder it was saved under is labeled !Miscellaneous with exclamation point, so I simply renamed and issue is fixed.

    i fixed it!
Control Panel > System >Advanced > Environment Variables dialogue box.
in here you should change the temp and “tmp” locations
    they’re like %user….%/….
    change them to another location
    i changed them to e:\temp
    it’s fixed
    enjoy

I was trying to install on Windows Server 2012 with this issue in the way. My domain username has a dot (“.”) in it, and the TEMP variable is the default “C:\windows\temp”.

I was able to finally run the installer without seeing the UI mode error by copying the CD contents to the local hard drive, then opening the Windows folder (in the copied CD contents), setting the compatibility to Windows 7 in the properties for the “mdss_install.exe” executable, and then executing it.

After that, all went as designed.

    Hello all,
i’m trying to install ADS in windows 10 and i got this probleme: installer UI mode not supported
The installer cannot run in this mode, to specify the interface mode, use the i-commnd line option followed by the UI mode identifier , the valid ones are : GUI, console and silent.
    I need your help.

    Thanks

Thank you! This fix worked for me. I had one of @#$%^& in the path of my installer executable.

    Thanks

Running the installer in compatibility mode (right click, properties, Compatibility) helped.
